Welcome to Otterbourne Hides & Studio, a family-run business in Otterbourne offering wildlife photography hides, bird of prey photography experiences and a fully equipped photography studio. Set within 5 acres of natural woodland, we’re photographers ourselves, creating authentic experiences designed by photographers, for photographers.
Meet the Family
Pete
Pete is the founder and owner of Otterbourne Hides & Studio. His passion for photography and wildlife inspired him to create the business and develop it into the unique environment it is today. Pete has worked extremely hard to build the beautiful site we operate from, with every animal cared for as part of the family.
Pete has travelled all over the world doing Photography, yet there is no place he would rather be than his own “back yard” here in Otterbourne, surrounded by the wildlife and nature he loves most.
Kate
Kate is Pete’s daughter-in-law and helps keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes. From enquiries and bookings to accounts and marketing. Since joining the family business, she’s also discovered a love for photography and now enjoys capturing portraits, baby and family shoots in the studio, as well as second shooting at weddings.
She loves being part of a family-run business and the flexibility it brings to family life.
Meet the family below…
Sam
Sam is Pete’s son and Kate’s husband. Alongside his full-time job as a tree surgeon, he helps care for the birds and maintain the site, always happy to lend a hand to support the family business. In his spare time, you’ll usually find him out on the golf course.
Being involved in the business also helps give Kate the flexibility to balance work and family life while raising their children.
The Kids
And then there’s Archie (9), Daisy (5) and Pippa the Cockapoo — three big lovers of the birds, wildlife and acres of woodland to explore and enjoy.
With mummy working for grandad, it means she can be there for all those important moments as they grow up. Archie is already starting to have a go behind the camera, following in grandad’s footsteps, while Daisy simply adores the birds and all the animals here.
Pippa spends plenty of time at the studio too and can often be seen joining in on workshops or happily accompanying visitors down to the hide.
